Grooming slot & waitlist card — worked example
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Bark Avenue Grooming keeps a card clipped by the till and one on the salon window. Fifteen Saturday slots, dog name and size in two fields; when Saturday is full, the card says so on its own and starts holding a waitlist — which fills the cancellation without a phone tree.

One question this sample gets asked
What happens when Saturday is already full?
The scanner sees the card say full — and the answer goes into the waitlist instead of the void. When someone cancels, the shop promotes the next name from the list, in order, from the data page.
