A HiHello alternative when the ask is a response, not a profile
Last updated: October 12, 2026
HiHello does one thing well: your contact details, photo and links live in an app, and you hand someone a card to tap. That is a one-to-one object answering "who are you". A different job asks a different question — you are putting 200 table cards in a conference room, running a badge batch, standing a tent card at a counter, and you need something back: a sign-up, a check-in, an answer, counted while the room is still in it.
Side by side, as of October 2026
| HiHello (app + digital card) | A printed QR code | QRCard AI | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What the card is about | You — one profile, reused every time | A link someone pasted into a generator | One job for one audience; then it retires |
| How it reaches people | Hand to hand, email signature, wallet pass | On the paper you print | On any material you print — card stock, poster, badge, tent card |
| Does the other side need an app | The app is where most of it lives | No | No — the browser is the whole experience at both ends |
| What comes back | A saved contact; lead capture depends on the plan | Nothing — a link has no memory | The submission itself: the list, the answers, seats left, the waitlist |
| Many events, many cards | An identity object — the same profile each time | One image per print run | One card per job, each with its own deadline and state |
| Taking the data out | Depends on the plan you are on | Nothing to take out | CSV export, no paid gate on answers you collected |
Competitor capabilities and pricing change — the comparison above describes product shapes, and current plans should be verified on the vendor’s own site.
What to check before switching
CHECKLIST
Name the unit of work
"Remember me" is a profile, and an app card is right for it. "80 sign-ups by Friday" is a collection: you want the form on the printed piece and the count live.
CHECKLIST
Check who has to install something
If the answer depends on the other side installing an app, their storage space decides your response rate. A QR Card opens from the camera.
CHECKLIST
Price the paper, not the plan
Compare what a run of 200 printed pieces costs, and what changes if you stop paying. Our free plan is the product up to 10 live cards, and export stays free.
What people ask when moving off an app card
Can I still hand out my own card?
Yes. A contact or link card wraps your profile in a printable face whose destination stays editable after printing. The difference is that nothing on the scanner’s side has to be installed.
Do I have to buy cards or hardware?
No. Generate, print on whatever material the job needs, order nothing. A hardware catalogue is a different route with different economics.
What does it cost?
Free up to 10 live cards, with every print size, PNG/SVG/PDF, live seat counts, the projection screen and CSV included. Plus only raises the card cap.
